Hi, congratulations and welcome to Bellabambini and Doula Services

So why choose me as your Doula?

I'm passionate about all things childbirth! I have many years of midwifery and research experience, therefore bring a unique understanding of the birth process and health systems and am up to date with the latest evidence-based research.

During my years as a midwife, I was frustrated by the lack of continuity due to excessive workload and time constraints. There was just no time to build that trusting and supportive relationship with women and birthing people.

I therefore looked into a way of working with families that would enable me to truly support women, tune into their wants, needs and birthing preferences and be able to offer that support, time and connection previously missing. Becoming a Doula was obviously a way to achieve this.

As your Doula I can offer unbiased information to enable you to make your own decisions regarding how and where you wish to birth your baby, and to be by your side to provide support for those choices throughout. Only you know what is right for you. However, before you can make an informed choice you need accurate, evidence based information. This can help you feel empowered rather than overwhelmed.

I can then be there for you to support you following birth through breastfeeding or bottle feeding your baby and offer respite to allow you to sleep and restore.

If you would like to chat or find out more about my Doula services before booking then you can book a free video chat.  Or message me via my 'contact me' page.

My Story

My Story

I started my training as a midwife aged 43 qualifying aged 46 with 4 young children. Once qualified I worked in an obstetric unit and then progressed to a midwifery led unit and then to working within the community. So I have a lot of experience in all areas of midwifery. However, midwifery never offered me the opportunity to really get to know birthing people and their families and offer them the continuity they deserved. So I changed direction and worked at Oxford University to pursue a career in research. Having since completed a Doula training course with Birth Bliss Doulas, I now feel that this is the right time to find that continuity I have long been seeking. I would love to join you and along with your partner be your advocate on this most exciting journey into parenthood.
